Review of Morgan Hawke’s Dark Erotic Novel, Uber Gothic
When I was about 15 years old I was a big fan of Hammer Horror Dracula, and would often fantasise about Christopher Lee seducing me with his lustful charms, with the end result of me becoming a vampire and I would have all the powers to seduce whoever I wanted.
Those days have long gone and sometimes I view Hammer Horror as corny. It just doesn’t hold that appeal for me any more as there’s no spark to ignite my imagination.
All this has now changed and Morgan Hawke has brought it all back to me with her amazing stories of lust and excitement. I yearn for the pleasures she writes about and if she writes from personal experience, I’m jealous as Hell.
Uber Gothic is her latest novel to be published and this story right from the start grabs your attention as you wonder what’s about to unfold.
Sygni Darkheart is a powerful witch who has undergone many an adventure. She visits her good friend Morwyn to track down an intruder inside her castle and this is where the fun begins.
Vampires, werewolves, witchcraft and Gods all come to life in this never-ending adventure of powerful sex, lust, new alliances and love. The story just builds and builds and as you get to know each of the characters, you find yourself slowly being drawn into their world as your emotions for each of the characters begin to evolve.
My two favourite characters are Sygni and Galen the vampire. In fact I want a Galen of my own now and if Morgan’s stories ever end up on the big screen, I’m sure that thousands of women from across the world will think the same as me.
I also love the character of Sam because he cracks me up with his interactions with Galen but it’s obvious that these two have a lot of respect for one another.
The only criticism I have about Uber Gothic is that the character of Inspector Coventry did my head in. I wouldn’t like to meet someone like him, as he’d annoy the Hell out of me. He’s boring, big headed, stubborn and I can see why Sygni doesn’t like the guy. Actually, it’s not a criticism at all as Morgan Hawke’s character writing is so believable and full of emotion, hence why I can’t stand the inspector.
This story builds and builds into a climaxing finish and to be honest, I’m quite upset that I’ve finished reading it because I want to stay in their world. I don’t want to leave the characters behind and I feel like it’s a loss.
No doubt this will change when she releases her next novel and I can’t wait.
If you’re looking for some excitement and a good novel to read that is guaranteed to turn you on then buy this. Honestly you won’t be sorry.
